Enough with the freakin’ comment porn spam, already!

October 28, 2003

Comments will be shut off for a while. I’m sick of this.

And especially you, ‘Russian Guy’ … you’d better hope I never bump into you on the street. I have to manually delete the comments and block the IP’s, and I don’t like housecleaning in real life – I assure you I dislike even MORE having to clean my virtual house. By hand. One by one.

You spamming nimrods do realize I don’t get enough traffic to make this worthwhile for any of us, right?

Dinks.

Gah.

Group Blogs

October 4, 2003

Blogs like Crooked Timber and Open Source Politics are, of course, chock-full of great stuff. No doubt about that, no-sirree.

I’ve noticed the trend, though, of bloggers abandoning their own individual blogs in favor of the group’s [see: Armed Liberal, Ted Barlow, et. al.]. Why is that?

Personally, I prefer to read an individual’s over a group’s. I just find it less confusing overall, I guess. I know exactly who’s speaking from the get-go, and I can’t seem to connect with the ‘voice’ on a group blog.

But that’s my own lament – I think group blogs can be and are fab. But I do miss regular blogging from several individual writers who seem to have left their own sites behind.
